2nd Annual Idaho Photographic Expo trainings
Today was the second day of Idaho Camera’s 2nd Annual Idaho Photographic Expo! Besides sitting behind a counter and talking about the cameras I gave two classes.
At 11:00AM-1:00PM I did a two hour basic DSLR class. I centered the class around the XTi and XSi. A few minutes before the class started I only had about 15 people. Considering that Olympus, Fuji and Pentax only had one to three people I thought I was lucky. But by the time I started I had about 40 people and a few minutes after I started some more showed up so I ended up with over 50 in the class.
A 4:30 PM I did a half hour on digital work flow. Usually I get people who want to learn more about RAW conversion,DPP and Photoshop. I only had five people in this class. What was interesting is they were all film shooters. I thought maybe they did not understand what I was going to speak on, but as it turned out they wanted to know more about the digital work-flow as they were considering switching over but were afraid they would not understand the work-flow area well enough to do so easily. I guess I learned that I should not judge my audience too quickly.
